About EF Polymer
EF Polymer created ‘Fasal Amrit’, the world’s first 100% organic bio-gel from fruit peels and biowaste that drastically improves moisture retention in soil and boosts farm yields in water-stressed agricultural lands. This biodegradable polymer absorbs 100 times more water than its weight, mitigating water scarcity, and elevating crop quality sustainably. Trusted by over 12,000 farmers globally, Fasal Amrit has the potential to conserve ten lakh litres of water per hectare, exemplified by the preservation of 20 crore litres to date.
EF Polymer’s groundbreaking solution transcends the limitations of traditional synthetic polymers that have been in use since the 1980s, offering a much-needed eco-friendly alternative that enhances soil quality and agricultural productivity without the indiscriminate use of chemical fertilisers.
EF Polymer at MIF’s Scale-Up
EF Polymer was inducted into MIF’s no-equity accelerator in April 2022.
Since then, Scale-Up’s functional mentors such as Former Brand Manager (Activation) Akshay Mattu have supported the startup in formulating a sales strategy by identifying the right geographies and crops to target. Group Product Head at Marico, Ankur Dey Tarafder handheld EF Polymer while redesigning packaging to increase brand recall and appeal among farmers. Business Human Resources (HR) Head – India Sales & Marketing Vivek Rathi at Marico assisted EF Polymer in hiring key talent, and establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Result Areas (KRAs) to streamline productivity, pay, and performance reviews.
One year after joining Scale-Up, EF Polymer successfully closed a round of Series-A funding to further scale its impact. In August 2023, Marico’s Head of Modern Trade Operations, Siddhartha Roy, visited the startup to understand in depth its sales & distributor challenges—offering the continuous support that Scale-Up promises.
MIF’s support has also enabled the organisation to showcase its technology to a network of FPOs at a virtual event conducted in collaboration with the National Association of FPOs, in 2024.
As of April 2024, EF Polymer continues to be a member of Scale-Up.
