Twelve startups supported by the Marico Innovation Foundation (MIF) have made remarkable strides in plastic waste management, collectively saving 124,360 tons of CO2 emissions over the past year. Featured in MIF’s ‘Innovation in Plastics: The Potential and Possibilities’ playbook, these startups have developed innovative solutions to address India’s escalating plastic consumption and waste output. This progress was showcased at the Plastics Program Roundup 2023-24, a day-long event—also covered by TheCSRUniverse—where MIF reviewed the impact of the innovative plastic waste management solutions it has been fostering.
The article specially underscores the achievements of startups like Ishitva Robotic Systems, whose AI-based sorting machine has processed 100,000 tons of plastic waste, and Ricron Panels and Angirus, which have transformed plastic waste into construction materials. The foundation’s efforts which have led multi-crore deal orders and other value-driven initiatives in the plastic waste management space have also been highlighted.
