MIF Head Suranjana Ghosh traces the origins, learnings, and successes of Scale-Up in an exclusive interview with YourStory.
Suranjana Ghosh, Head of Marico Innovation Foundation (MIF), recently spoke with YourStory about the transformative impact of Scale-Up, MIF’s flagship, no-equity accelerator. Ms. Ghosh discussed how MIF’s extensive ecosystem experience shaped the program’s evolution to address the specific needs of startups in the INR 1-100 crore revenue growth phase.
The conversation highlighted MIF’s strategic decision to align with UN SDGs, focusing the program on clean tech, agri-tech, and plastic waste management. Ms. Ghosh emphasised that Scale-Up’s success stems from careful mentor selection, customised guidance, and continuous engagement with participating startups.
The interview showcased tangible results from this approach, with two program graduates—Atomberg and S4S Technologies—achieving Soonicorn status, and six current participants on track to reach this milestone by 2026. Looking ahead, Ms. Ghosh revealed plans to debut current Scale-Up participants at the Indian Innovation Icons awards in April 2025, creating valuable connections with industry leaders, investors, and policymakers.
Throughout the discussion, Ms. Ghosh reinforced MIF’s unwavering commitment to supporting innovations with meaningful social, economic, and environmental impact, providing a comprehensive picture of how Scale-Up continues to transform the Indian startup landscape.
