About ISDM
The Indian School of Development Management (ISDM) was founded on a simple but urgent premise: that management schools are inadequate and often at odds with the needs of the social sector. To bridge this gap, ISDM is reimagining management education for social change and is a pioneering institution that offers unique programs to nurture leadership talent for India’s social purpose organisations (SPOs).
The Post Graduate Program in Development Management (PGP-DM), ISDM’s flagship 11-month program, equips students to value diversity, develop universal human values, and demonstrate professional management skills while navigating the complexity and challenges of the social sector. ISDM’s other offerings include bespoke strategic capacity-building programs for SPOs; the ‘Women on Boards’ program for women leaders in SPOs; and a global knowledge hub that conducts research and disseminates learnings through conferences and workshops.
The institution won a Special Mention at MIF’s Innovation for India Awards in 2020.
ISDM at MIF’s Scale-Up
The Indian School of Development Management (ISDM) received in-depth support from former Head of Strategy at Marico, Ruchika Agarwal, in crafting a comprehensive three-year roadmap for its strategic growth, including Key Performance Indicators. This roadmap brought clarity to both Senior Management and teams, guiding them on vital focus areas for expansion.
Additionally, Scale-Up mentor Siddharth Vaya, Category Head, Saffola Oils at Marico, facilitated the development of a survey questionnaire to gauge ISDM’s brand recall and awareness among students and student employers, and establish a baseline for future analysis. ISDM was also handheld while fine-tuning their Request for Proposal (RFP) for hiring an external brand and marketing agency to increase their reach and refine their brand narrative. Currently, ISDM is in the process of shortlisting agencies recommended by MIF to further their brand-building efforts.
Since MIF’s Scale-Up Program has now narrowed down its focus to innovations in Agriculture, Plastic Waste Management, and Clean Technology, ISDM graduated from the Scale-Up program in 2024.
